We did go to an Easter Festival that Bronson's parent's church was holding. The kids had a great time. I did get some pictures; however, I'll be posting those on our family photo website (you should see those soon). We tried very hard to take some Easter morning pictures....but as with toddlers, you take what you can get!
The girls were very eager to get their dresses on that G-pa had bought them. But Preston was refusing to change out of his pjs!!! We're going through a phase where pjs are better than regular clothes. It's a fight almost every morning. If it weren't for Easter, we probably would have had him go to church in his little jammies. (Yes, it was that difficult). But alas, he changed into the outfit his Aunt Ginger got for him!! Very cute!
On Good Friday, Bronson and I were both off work (my contract work) so we decided to take the babies to the zoo for the first time!!! They thoroughly enjoyed it! And just like we thought, the monkeys were by far their favorite exhibit!!
It was great to see what their reactions were to seeing "real live" animals opposed to the animals we see on TV or the My Baby Can Read video. They got to experience everything; the smell, the sounds, the behavior....everything!!!
The week before Easter, I participated in the MS 150 Bike Ride from Houston to Austin. It was an amazing experience and I have decided to make it an annual tradition. Since Bronson and I would be gone that weekend and I had contract work the following week, the kids got to stay with my mom (GaGa). Six whole days and six whole nights. Pictured above is the trio eating a watermelon GaGa cut for them. They had a blast!!! And even GaGa had a good time!! I was told they didn't even want to come home (that's a good thing!). We'll get to do it all over again coming up this weekend....but this time, they'll be staying for two weeks! We'll see who lasts....GaGa or the trio!
The Friday before they left, Elise had her cardiology appointment. She was asked to come back this April to find out if the heart murmur had closed. It hasn't. So, our cardiologist recommended we see one of his colleagues for surgery. We made a pre-op appointment on May 17th. We should find out during that time if it's really necessary, what the surgery entails, what are the risks and any other questions we may have. Although this procedure is common and I'm sure they do it hundreds of times a day, please keep her in your prayers.
The Tuesday before Elise's appointment, Ben & Jerry's had a free ice cream day to celebrate their anniversary. I thought it would be great to have an outing with the kids and have ice cream too!
It was CROWDED!!! But the babies were AWESOME! They patiently waited in line to get a cone. To be on the safe side (they didn't like vanilla before), we tried strawberry.
They LOVED it! Mollie inhaled hers (just like Momma). Elise ate hers quickly, but neatly (neat like Daddy). And Preston took his time (just like Daddy). He did take so much time that we ended up having to "share" the rest of his cone as it was pouring ice cream everywhere!
After they finished their treat, I let them play in the bouncy that was there. It was so neat....they had a DJ, a bouncy, games, etc. Needless to say, the kids went to bed very early that night!
This coming up weekend is the March of Dimes walk. Be on the lookout for another posting about the event. GaGa will be taking the kids again this Saturday and keeping them for two weeks!!
