March of Dimes!!!

It's that time of year again! Our March of Dimes walk was today!!! For those of you reading this and don't know, our family participates in the March of Dimes walk (with our group, Mothers of Multiples) every year.

This year was a little different to say the least. First of all, Daddy walked with us! It was so much fun for the babies (and for Momma since he pulled the wagon most of the way!).

But we also recruited an additional walker: Brette!! Brette is my niece through my stepbrother, Dennis. She is such a delight! The kiddos love her and she is so good with them. It was nice to have an extra hand.....especially this year. As you will see below, the kids got to walk as well as ride!

Before we started the walk, Mollie thought it would be a good idea to remove the string from her arm that was holding her balloon. Needless to say, she learned a basic lesson in physics. We finally got her another balloon from one of the booths and convinced her to say "Goodbye red balloon". Within seconds, she was back on track.

Oh Preston.....he's such a ham!!! He was so excited about the walk. I don't know if it was the idea of riding in the choo-choo wagon, seeing the overly crowded walkers, or the pure enjoyment of having his Daddy and GaGa nearby....but he was happy!

And then we have Elise.....our baby girl that takes full advantage of any opportunity of pleasure that presents itself. Here she is laid back with her snack cup full of goldfish, sippy cup full of water, enjoying the ride.

About half way in the walk (1 1/2 miles), Mollie, Elise and Preston decided it was time to experience the joy of walking....or in Mollie's case, running. Oh how she loves to run! Like the energizer bunny, she kept going and going. Everyone around us kept saying she's a ball of energy bouncing off everything. And my response was the same, "Boy, don't you know it!"

Elise didn't do a lot of running.....she stayed behind with GaGa and Brette. Every once in a while, she would challenge them by going off the route. She loved to take off laughing (I'm sure laughing at whoever had to chase her down). Definitely a handful!

Preston was somewhat in the middle with Mollie and Elise. He loved to try and catch up with Mollie and run with her a little bit, but then lagged behind and "wander" to other areas of the route with Elise. He thoroughly enjoyed being with his Daddy most of all.

All throughout the walk, there were signs like the one above. In addition, we saw countless of shirts memorializing babies that didn't make it either past birth or longer than a month after birth. It broke my heart to see these families that have lost precious, beautiful babies that they haven't even gotten to know. And it reminds me of how much Bronson and I are blessed. The triplets may have been born at 32 weeks gestation; 2 months premature....but they were born healthy. It was because of organizations like March of Dimes that have done all kinds of research to increase the chance of surviving premature birth that helped our three little miracles.

Watching them grow in body and spirit every day is a miracle in itself. They have survived the odds of premature birth and continue to excel in every area of life. They are more than I ever hoped for and everything I ever dreamed. I'm thankful to God every day that I have these dear ones in my life. And I'm grateful to all of you who have supported us either monetarily or in prayer. Thank you for being a part of our lives.
