Moving On Up!

What a busy week so far!! The babies moved up to a much bigger crib. This thing is huge!! It takes up most of our space. But it's so much better. We all have space now to change them. As you can see in the pictures, the babies all had a little time with the physical therapist. They all did great. Mollie and Preston are sensitive to loud noises and Elise is sensitive to light. So, for right now, we need to be mindful of that while they're still in the NICU.
They have all gained weight. Mollie is now 4 lbs 13 oz, Elise is 4 lbs 9 oz and our little Preston is now 4 lbs 6 oz. Mollie was almost 5 lbs, but she lost 2 oz. We did find out that Mollie's iron is a little low so she's taking an iron supplement right now. Elise did have a follow up test on her PDA. We don't have the results yet. Hopefully we'll get those today. The girls moved up to 3 nurse feedings a day as of yesterday. The third one is a bottle feeding. We met with the Occupational Therapist to start them on the bottles. They did wonderful! Mollie finished almost all of her bottle. Elise finished half. Preston is still at one nurse feeding a day. We really need to pray for him to move to two. He seems to be dragging a little behind the girls.
It's been a little frustrating for me this week. I feel so much better and I'm able to move easier. I'm really wanting them to come home now. They only have to conquer two things: be on a bottle or nurse feeding at all 8 feedings in a 24 hour period and gain weight every day. But I know it's better for them to stay until they are absolutely ready. I believe God has a purpose for them being there.

wow, it is so exciting to hear how well they are doing. little preston will catch up - hopefully sooner than later. you are going to have such an experience bringing them home! i hope it happens soon but agree they need to stay where they are until they are ready. you have a ton of support behind you and your family - stay strong and try not to get frustrated, for them! they need a peaceful mommy! keep up the good work! love ya!
